Sustainably focused construction company, Better Green Living, partnered with social enterprise Unseen Tours as it marked its 15 year anniversary with a photography exhibition celebrating the stories of tour guides who have experienced homelessness.
The exhibition, which took place on 26 March at art’otel Hoxton in London, showcased a photo documentary project featuring the guides who run Unseen Tours’ walking tours across the capital. Through photography and personal stories, the exhibition aimed to challenge perceptions of homelessness while highlighting the individuals behind the tours.
Better Green Living helped host the launch event, helping Unseen Tours bring together partners, advocates and guests to celebrate the organisation’s work and raise awareness of its mission. The company also sponsored the food and drinks for the evening.
Founded in 2010, Unseen Tours is a social enterprise that trains people with lived experience of homelessness to become walking tour guides in London, giving them the opportunity to build skills, confidence and earn an income while offering visitors a different perspective on the city through personal stories and local insight.
Since launching, the organisation has worked with 30 guides and delivered tours across several areas of London, running more than 450 tours each year and welcoming over 35,000 guests overall. The organisation’s work comes as rough sleeping remains a significant issue in the capital, with recent CHAIN data recording 4,841 people sleeping rough in London between October and December 2025, a 5% increase on the same period the previous year.[1]
Jasmine Awad, CEO at Unseen Tours, comments: “Unseen Tours was founded on the belief that people with lived experience of homelessness have valuable stories, skills and perspectives to share. Our tours create meaningful employment opportunities for our guides while also helping people better understand the realities of homelessness.
“Collaborating with organisations that genuinely care about the cause and share our values is incredibly important for a small social enterprise like ours. Partnerships like this help us raise awareness of our work, reach new audiences and continue creating opportunities for our guides.”
Tom Dodson, Chief Operations Officer at Better Green Living, said: “We are proud to support Unseen Tours and the important work they do in creating opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness. The exhibition is a powerful way to highlight the stories behind the tours and celebrate the individuals who run them.
“Partnerships like this are an opportunity to support organisations making a meaningful difference in their communities, and we are pleased to play a small part in helping Unseen Tours continue their work.”
